Public Space 4 Her is a project exploring how teenage girls reclaim and engage with public space in three European cities: Brussels, Nicosia, and Ljubljana. Running from 2023 to 2026, the initiative was co-funded by the European Union and supported by local partners in each city. This platform provides detailed information on the project, alongside an array of relevant resources and lectures.

Alive

Alive is a Brussels-based socio-spatial design agency that enables local actors to appropriate the city. Through an empathetic and collaborative approach, we aim to make public space more livable. Our practice ranges from macro-scale urban strategies to micro-scale spatial interventions. In each project we implement a similar approach: we observe existing social and spatial situations, involve the local community and co-produce their everyday environment. Founded in 2010, our team currently comprises architects, social designers and spatial designers that address the challenges of urban transformation in an interdisciplinary way.

Urban Gorillas

Urban Gorillas is a multi-disciplinary team of creative urbanites united by their common vision and enthusiasm for constantly improving life in the city. Our team has a vivid interest to transform public spaces into lively, innovative and inclusive hubs, to cultivate civil society and to impact policies. The organisation shares expertise in arts and architecture, urban design and planning, landscape design, environmental engineering, economics, communications, cultural project management, as well as a love for innovation. Since 2013, we have been active in city-making through urban regeneration, community engagement, and the implementation of socio-cultural and artistic projects in public spaces.

Prostoroz

Prostoroz aims to address the environmental and social challenges faced by cities in Slovenia and abroad. This is why we turn roads into squares, revive construction sites and forgotten green areas, involve residents in urban planning and search for new value in old buildings. We accelerate spatial dynamics and create opportunities for new uses of public space with interventions and temporary projects. We connect people with spaces and each other through those spaces. Prostorož was formed in 2004 out of a desire to explore and understand open public space. Today, the team consists of architects, social scientists and technical assistants, who approach the challenges of urban space in an interdisciplinary manner.
